III Contest of the Wines from the Northwest
Past 8th and 9th June was celebrated the III Contest of the Wines from the Northwest, with the participation of several wine cellars of this Denomination of Origin.
Seems that, without doubt, this is being a good year for the Txakoli of Bizkaia. To the increment of the production, unite the recognitions obtained so much in the Bacchus prizes as that of one of the most influential critics (Robert Parker). Now it must add another prize which, step by step, situates us in a privileged position among the best white wines.
In the III Contest of the Wines from the Northwest have been denominations from Castille-Lion, Galicia, Asturias, Basque Country and North Portugal.
The wine cellars recorded that have participated in this contest, very good results have been obtained, that has supposed to the txakoli Bikandi 2009 the Special Gold Prize, while the Magalarte Zamudio 2009 has been rewarded with Gold Medal, and the Artabila 2009 and Oxinbaltza 2009 have achieved both Silver Medals.
