Welcome to the Institutional Page of the Regulatory Council of Designation of Origin "Txakoli de Bizkaia – Bizkaiko Txakolina", an entity entrusted with protecting and supervising the authenticity of the wine elaborated by the registered wineries.
In it you can find all the information on this particular wine, fruit of a land that looks towards the sea.
You can also organise an itinerary through the wineries in which you will get to know firsthand the land and the climate that, together with the work of our producers and winemakers, make it possible for our txakoli to exist.

Last May 27th, at the headquarters of Ipar Kutxa in Bilbao, the first Ipar Kutxa Prize for professionalism in the treatment of Txakoli de Bizkaia was presented. An initiative arising from the collaboration agreement established between Ipar Kutxa and the DO Txakoli de Bizkaia.
Jorge Fernandez, Kirmen Uribe and Julio Alegria received their awards over the course of the Txakoli Eguna held on 26 April in the Ensanche Market during the official presentation of the 2009 vintage.
On a cold and rainy afternoon, the Mendibile Palace became, once again, the "must" rendezvous for all wine lovers and connoisseurs who wished to savour the new vintage in which the Txakoli tastes of quality.

III Contest of the Wines from the Northwest
Past 8th and 9th June was celebrated the III Contest of the Wines from the Northwest, with the participation of several wine cellars of this Denomination of Origin.
